Baked Tuna Dip

Baked Tuna Dip.jpg

Ingredients

  • 1 x 185 gram lemon pepper or other flavoured tuna, drained

  • 250 grams cream cheese

  • 1 tablespoon very finely diced red onion

  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • 1 teaspoon tabasco sauce

  • 70 grams slivered almonds, lightly toasted

  • Ground paprika to sprinkle

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180’C

  2. Toast the almonds on an oven tray-about 5 minutes (put your timer on as they will burn quickly!)

  3. Remove from the oven and let them cool

  4. Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature, or carefully soften slightly in the microwave-this will allow you to blend the dip together much better

  5. Combine all ingredients except the paprika in a medium sized mixing bowl

  6. Transfer to an ovenproof dish suitable for serving

  7. Lightly sprinkle the top with paprika

  8. Bake 20 minutes

    To serve:

This dip is best with more robust crackers as it’s quite stiff. Crostini or wholewheat crackers are a good option.
